In the last couple years, I’ve really enjoyed getting more involved in sporting clays shooting with my friends. We all shoot because we enjoy spending time with one another, but at the same time we all want to get better.  I’ve never owned a custom shotgun before and I began to explore what this looked like.  I became familiar with the names of finer gun manufacturers but that’s all I was seeing, more expensive shotguns with fancier finishes, higher in quality, but nothing that would really help me become a better shooter.  I met Rickie and he told me what he was trying to do with his new shop Bottega di Lusso and Zoli shotguns. I had never heard of Zoli and Rickie explained to me the time and detail Zoli puts into their firearms.  I did my own research on Zoli and everything I read aligned with what Rickie had explained.  It was the trust that Rickie created in that first meeting that sold me on moving forward with the purchase.  This is a big investment for me and I wanted to make sure I was making a good decision. Any lingering doubts I had were laid to rest when I came in to be fitted. Here was the big difference.  I was purchasing a quality shotgun and it was being made to my exact set up.  The detail and time Rickie and his team took  to measure and fit the shotgun to me was amazing and this was just to get the order placed. When the shotgun came in I went through the final fitting. I wasn’t aware of this step but this is the length Rickie goes to produce a custom shotgun for you. Measurements were retaken and confirmed to make sure my sight line looking down the rib of barrel was the best it could be for me. This is the difference Rickie and his team provide which sets them apart. I’m purchasing a Zoli quality shotgun but more importantly it’s exactly set up for me with exquisite detail and craftsmanship of a true artisan.  Going forward I only have to focus on the clay target and my plan of attack to break it.  I won’t be wondering if my shotgun is pointed at the correct spot.
